Bill Gelbke

William (Wild Bill) Gelbke graduated college in Wisconsin as an electronic engineer and moved out to California for additional schooling at a Southern California University.  He then worked for McDonnell Douglas and Hughes Aircraft.

"Wild Bill" longed for excitement so in the early 1960's he opened a bike shop in Chicago, and began designing and building motorcycles. He then created what he believed was the ultimate touring motorcycle.  After 12 years of development he built the Gelbke Auto-four.
